Villa de Leyva is a big town with approximately 16,984 habitants, 40 kilometers from Tunja and 170 kilometers from Bogota, Colombia. This is the second most beautiful town in Colombia after Barichara - Santander; This place is particularly beautiful because the architecture is colonial and antique. The streets are stone, the most commom color are white and all this ones have balcony. The most important part in this town is the principal church in Plaza Mayor. At 14,000 square meters its the largest square, surrounded by shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs.

Santuario Flora y Fauna Iguaque
National parks is about 13 kilometers from Villa de Leyva. This place has one of the best route in Villa de Leyva for hiking and camping. You need only one day to walk in this place. Before arriving in the fisrt point you need to walk up the rural road with some cars, people or horses, wherever you can think is possible, because on the road you can find a lot of stories. Near the entrance you find the principal house, in this place you can camp or spend the night in the hostel, where there is a pool and food. When you continue walking you will find a flat grassy area, you can stop here if you are tired or continue you route into the forest .
Clay House
Casa Terracota is the biggest pottery house in the world, because more than 10 people can be in the house or on the rooftop. Each area has different details with a lot of colours and special non-geometrics designs. The artist is Octavio Mendoza Morales from Colombia.
Periquera Waterfall
In this park you can find the higherst waterfall in Villa de Leyva, if you want you can practice extreme sports here, such rappeling or canyoning. This reserve has a big area, that you can walk for hours, rent a quad or ride a horse in.
Ostrich farm
This place has more than 20 Ostrich, divided in corrals, depending on their age or gender. Actually, if you want to go inside with the animals and give them special food, it is possible. These animals, from small, listen to music and see the people, along with the guardians. This farm has different animals in addition to ostriches.
Pozos Azules
Imagine a lake with a blue green color, this is the color of this place when it is a sunny day, because when it is cloudy or rainy, the water is darker. But in this desert area, regardless of the weather. You can walk and find three different water wells.
Festivals

Transport:
You have two different options:
1. Take a ''Flota'' or ''Intermunicipal'' on Autopista Norte towards Tunja or Villa de leyva. Te bus to Tunja will take 2 hours, when you arrive in Tunja ask for the bus to Villa de Leyva. This trip will take 90 minutes because the van stops along the road and sometimes you need to wait for 2 minutes. But you can take the ''flota'' direct to Villa de Leyva.

2. Take your car and drive for 4 hours. The route is ''Bogota - Cajica - Zipaquira - Choconta - Samaca - Villa de Leyva'' this way is easy because the roads are in really good condition, but sometimes only have one lane.
